The Psychology Service works in conjunction with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s Clinical Sciences Theme to support research across the campus. Professor Vicki Anderson is the Clinical Sciences Theme Director and researchers within this Theme are involved in the care of babies, children and adolescents with serious acute and chronic illness, with the aim of improving the long-time outcomes for vulnerable children and ultimately saving lives. The key to this research is improving the acute diagnosis and treatment in the paediatric setting, as well as follow-up of the psychosocial and cognitive consequences for children who undergo clinical care.
